In the early 1920s, Georges Laffont (Romain Duris), traumatised by the horrific trench warfar, decides to leave his life behind and travel to West Africa into the vast territories of Upper Volta in the company of Diofo, artist and also survivor of the Great War. From village to village, Georges uses Diofo's talents as a griot to recruit the villagers as labour for plantations in Ghana. But his adventure leads him to a dead-end, and he comes back to Paris where is brother Marcel (Grégory Gadebois), a war invalid, lives with their mother's. After the war in Europe, life went out without him. Georges will desperately try to find his place, with the help of Hélène (Céline Salette), a sign language teacher with whom he will have a tumultuous relationship, and his family, that he selfishly left behind. 没有想象的好看,女主最近出镜好多。
开局的炮火连天,过程的纸醉金迷,结尾的迷茫失落。感觉英语区剧情依靠语言的堆积。
大好的题材,大好的男二号,被兜兜转转的剧情和轻重拿捏失衡的叙述方式毁掉,可惜
导演应该很喜欢非洲,拍了很多原始风俗,有些还令人发笑,迪尔夫像一个忠诚的星期五,让人惋惜。不错的题材,前半段非洲比重有点过度,后半段对战争创伤的情感渲染始终差点力度,马赛角色的表演可圈可点。战争过后不可能完整的回来,完成不可能之事让人心生敬畏。
爱奇艺看,三星半,一战(所有战争)创伤,不是那么好复原的,是“不可能的事”。我一看Duris,心情就会很好,不晓得为啥。片中每个角色都是战争受害者,男人,母亲,女人,从非洲回法国再去西贡,殖民或打扫旧战场,总是多余的人,1925,俩多余的人可以谈恋爱,过日子,也就十几年日子,二战就来哒。。。

节奏不好
从历史的角度来看,一战史、殖民史和“咆哮的二十年代”交融在鲜活个体之上,情感真切,故事合理,精神迷离。蒙着面具的西非草原,破碎的战场与家庭,以及神秘的西贡,难怪法国人逐渐疏离爱国心。
主题挺好,但确实有些无聊

西非部分有些脱节,可以理解战后想要重新找回秩序的主线,不过正好是接在重温[魂归故里]与[弗门丧歌]两部剧之间来补的这部片子,所以有了曾经的Julie/Toni你救过我我救过你(至少是三搭了),还有Hyène跟Vernon最后的两线相交(罗曼为什么要坚持这个大胡子造型),再加上1920s的浮光掠影尤其是黄色敞篷车@ Gatsby,都没法不设前提地来看待这片子。ps交出黑白底片!
我竟然看了一部如此冷门的片
非洲和法国的故事都太短了,不够尽兴。“我有埃菲尔铁塔,你杀不死我”好讽刺。但又觉得愚昧的力量有时候也无穷大。
战争过后,伤痛是无法通过流放而恢复的,必须是人性的相互温暖。

3.7 制作精良,大老远跑去非洲,duris脏脏的手脚和身板儿看来吃了不少苦。剧本微散,战后创伤的主旨还是从头至尾贯穿的,但个人认为微微缺乏力度。
